BYFREY was founded by Freya, who has sensitive skin herself and wanted to better understand what truly mild care means. Mild is one of the most used and least defined words in care. Most products claim it, few earn it, standards vary. Often, mildness is defined by what a formula leaves out rather than how well it aligns with the skin.
That's why we developed our Biomimetic Mildness System™.
Freya's curiosity about mild care comes from growing up close to her family's hair and body care business in Lower Saxony, Germany. Her grandfather started the business over 60 years ago. As a child, she spent a great deal of time there, fascinated by the world of cosmetics.
Still family-owned today, it is where every BYFREY product is developed and produced.
Today, BYFREY is led by Freya and her co-founder Alexandra. Friends for almost ten years, they first met at university, later became colleagues, and eventually started BYFREY together. Along the way, they discovered they shared more than a friendship: sensitive skin and the belief that care should evolve with you and your skin.
Together, they are building and growing BYFREY.
