No. BYFREY is not a natural or organic cosmetics brand in the traditional sense. While our formulas contain up to 98% naturally derived ingredients, our goal is not to be as natural as possible, it's to be as skin-compatible as possible.

We select ingredients based on how well they support the skin barrier, microbiome, and natural functions. Many natural ingredients can be highly active and may be too harsh for sensitive skin.

We use ingredients that mimic, support, and respect the skin’s biology. Examples include:

• Skin-identical lipids such as ceramides to help replenish the natural skin barrier, and skin-identical humectants such as Sodium PCA to support the skin’s natural moisture balance
• Humectants such as glycerin to help attract and retain moisture, and panthenol to support the skin’s natural barrier renewal
• Microbiome-supporting ingredients such as inulin, skin-friendly pH levels, and the intentional avoidance of ingredients that may disrupt the skin’s natural balance

We avoid ingredients that we consider unnecessarily harsh or inconsistent with our approach to mildness. TThis includes drying alcohols (e.g. Alcohol Denat.), BHT, colourants, mineral oils, parabens, PEGs, phthalates, silicones, and sulfates.

We also avoid food-derived proteins, such as nut proteins, as well as essential oils and highly aromatic botanicals that can be challenging for sensitive skin. In our baby products, we do not use added fragrance.

Our focus is not on following trends or ingredient blacklists. We make formulation decisions based on skin compatibility, barrier support, and long-term mildness.

Yes. All BYFREY products are dermatologically tested and approved for sensitive skin. We work closely with German dermatologists and allergy experts who support and recommend our products.

Yes. BYFREY products are specifically designed for sensitive skin and formulated to support the skin barrier and microbiome. Our formulas are free from many ingredients commonly associated with irritation and are developed with long-term skin compatibility in mind. Many customers with dry, eczema-prone, or irritation-prone skin choose BYFREY as part of their daily care routine.

No. Treating eczema is a medical claim requiring a licensed medicinal product. For clinically diagnosed atopic dermatitis, please consult a dermatologist.
